Advertising

You see advertising in almost everything these days. Whether its movies, shows, billboards, radio, even sports. Everyday the average person is exposed to about 1,600 ads daily. In addition, the average human will only remember 3 ads they have seen that day. It comes to show that in today's age advertising is one of the most important departments in a business. As an advertiser your job is to draw peoples attention to your product. First of all, People buy brands not products. Why? because they know what their going to get out of that product based on the brand. McDonalds for example has been the leading fast food restaurant franchise in the world because of it's consistency. They don't change colors or products, they just find different ways to make a product better. When it comes down to it, advertising is probably the easiest thing to do in the world. Whether its sex appeal, a celebrity, colors, or a jingle all you want is to climb into your consumers mind.

I choose the Digiorno commercial where the guy dresses up like a pizza delivery guy and gets into a huge mansion party. That would never happen in a million years. This ad is obviously directed towards college kids like myself. College kids love parties, and pizza right? so why not throw both in a commercial? When the Kid gets into the house all you see is white marble. Every and any college would want to see white marble when they go into a party. Digiorno doesn't really have a jingle but it's motto is very very catchy; "It's not delivery, It's Digiorno's". This motto basically states that the pizza is so good you would think it's delivery, when in reality you cook it in the oven. Of course the pizza they show on the commercial looks nothing like the ones you get but we all know that. I have personally never tried Digiorno's but I feel like it wouldn't even compare to delivery pizza. It's manipulative but at the same time untruthful. You want to eat it, but you would never try to get into a party like that.

Ecological Footprint

While finding out my ecological footprint i began to realize how hazardous i was to the environment. If everyone lived like me we need 5.3 Earths to provide resources. In addition, I take up 23.7 acres of productive area to support my lifestyle. When I first saw this I was shocked but then I started thinking about my lifestyle and it honestly seemed to all add up.

When I think of my ecological footprint I simply think of a footprint. For example, when you walk on the beach you leave your footprint and the sand changes shape. Now just think of the sand as the earth (which it is) and my foot as me; I'm shaping the world more and more every day by the way I live, and It's not a good way. Adding on, I need to sustain what I do so I can help sustain the earth.

Sustainability is the long-term maintenance of well being. When making choices in life you have to take into consideration what affects you will have on the environment. We can sustain the environment if we recycle, use  incandescent light bulbs, unplug electronics we are not using, and more. When buying products, you should take into account how long the product will last. If the product will last longer then it takes to make the product then the product is sustainable.

To reduce my own footprint, I need to stop using up so much gas. I am constantly on the road increasing pollution using about 40 gallons of gas a week. I can fix this by starting to carpool with friends or walking and biking. Instead of making several trips to the store during the week, I wait until the end of the week and make one trip. By living on campus and taking the bus, I am now using less gas then when I had to drive all the way to school and back.

Introducing Myself

My name is Garrett Charles Prock and I was born in Coral Springs Florida. I have lived in Deerfield Beach Florida for the 18 years I've been present, and I have loved every minute of my time there. However, I went to school in a city called Coconut Creek, which was literally a bridge away from Deerfield. Sports have also been a huge part in my life along with music. It's funny because my Dad made sure I Played sports and my Mom made sure I played an instrument.

When I was three I Started playing the drums and piano, my mom was a music teacher so I really had no choice but now I'm happy she taught me because not only do I get all the babes (JOKE) but i also have something to fall back on if my intended path doesn't work out for me. Around the same time I started to play pee wee soccer which really opened my eyes up to the competitive side of the world. I went on and played almost every sport throughout the 18 years of my life. I seemed to always like football the most, which would explain why I would go on and start 4 years of Football in High school.

I went to Monarch High School, which is a school that is way to over populated. High school was a blast but I'm happy I'm out of that school cause one more year probably would have killed me. Six years ago I started to play the guitar and I know have two songs written and one that is recorded. I have two sisters and an older brother. I’m a uncle and a brother in-law. I have a Dog named princess and she's the only girl that gets my attention.

This summer I had a very important decision to make, Go play Football in college and try to make it to the NFL, or focus on my business career and obviously I choose to take my talents to the Fort.
